(A person was shot Sunday)...It was reported in the 300 Block of South 45th Avenue in Yuma.

Yuma County Sheriff's Office received the report at 4:17 in the morning. A Male subject had been shot by an individual. Deputy's said two individuals were in a verbal altercation during a gathering. Both subjects left the scene, but one returned with a shotgun and fired at least one round toward the house where a male subject was located. The male subject was struck with multiple birdshot pellets. The suspect fled the scene.. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation. A suspect was identified as 28 year old Cesar Martin Ponce of Yuma. He was quickly located with the assistance of the Yuma Police Department. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for Attempted Homicide and Aggravated Assault. The victim suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Phoenix area hospital. The case remains under investigation.
