A man wanted for a brutal murder in Calexico has been arrested.

The Calexico Police Department says that Agustine Baca was arrested Tuesday night in Yuma, Arizona. Baca, 47, was wanted for a September 10, 2024, murder in Calexico, Cailfornia. The investigation into Baca's whereabouts involved the Calexico Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Imperial County District Attorney's office and the Yuma Police Department. Baca is suspected of murdering a 29-year-old Calexico woman who was shot in the face. Baca was seen leaving the scene of the crime and at one point fired shots at law enforcement officers who were searching for him.
