(County Public Health releases an updated Heat Illness update for Imperial County.
The report indicates heat related illnesses have increased. The report also indicates heat related deaths in Imperial County have not. They remain at 10. There have now been 11 cases of Heat Stroke, 60 cases of heat exhaustion and 46 cases of heat fatigue or dehydration. The numbers for the Heat Related Illness updates are provided by El Centro Regional Medical Center, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District and the County Coroner's Office. The National Weather service says excessive heat will continue into September. The Health Department reminds residents that exposure to high temperatures can cause serious health problems, including death.
