It was presented to the long time public servant at her El Centro residence. California State Director Sandra Gonzalez read the certificate while presenting it to Mrs Sanders. Sedalia Sanders, now in her 80's spent over 40 years in public service. Most of those years she served on the El Centro City Council, She served 5 times as Mayor of the City. and served several years on the California League of Cities, one year, 1995, as president. She served on the National League of Cities Board of Directors. She was appointed by the Governor to the California Commission on Aging, not once, but twice. And several other organizations and associations, all while working full-time at the Imperial County Public Health Department.
