What could have been a catastrophic fire was averted when the sprinkler system was activated.
At about 3:00 a.m. Friday, Yuma Fire Department and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma Fire responded to a commercial fire at the Alsco facility on Florence Lane in Yuma. On arrival, a bundle of linen products was burning under an awning of an outside storage facility. One sprinkler head had been activated and the water flow kept the fire under control.
