(City of El Centro Library has Hiking Backpack Kits)....They also have new travel books available for check-out.

They are for novice to intermediate hikers and travelers. The Southern California Library Cooperative grant provided 21 backpacks that can be checked out for up to 3 weeks at a time. A patron is able to check out a park pass along with the backpack, good for hiking at state parks. The library also added new books on hiking and dozens of travel books to places near El Centro, such as San Diego and as far as Europe. The backpacks include a trekking pole, binoculars, a compass, survival equipment and more.
