An estimated quarter million dollars worth of methamphetamine was taken off the streets.

U. S.Border Patrol agents stopped a car on Interstate 8 near Dillon Road. A K-9 Team alerted to the car and a search of the sedan led to the discovery of five duffel bags loaded with methamphetamine with a total weight of 154 pounds.The estimated street value is $278,000. The driver, a Mexican citizen with a border crossing card, was arrested and turned over to the Drug EnforcementAgency. The arrests was made in support of Operation Apollo, a joint regional operation compromised of federal, state, and local agencies working to combat the threat bot fentanyl and other illicit synthetic narcotics.
