A California cheesemaker has recalled cheese and other dairy products.

Rizo-Lopez Foods is recalling a number of brands of Cotija , Oaxaca, Panela, Queso Fresco, Queso Seco, Requeson, and Ricotta cheeses as well as Cream and Yogurt. The dairy products were distributed nationwide and sold at stores including Cardenas, Food City and La Michoacana under brand names including Don Francisco, La Ordena, Rizo Brothers, Santa Maria, Dos Ranchitos, Casa Cardenas and 365 Whole Foods. 

Consumers should check for any of the recalled products and, if found, throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them. 

The recalled products are believed linked to a Listeria outbreak that has caused 2 deaths, 26 illnesses with 23 hospitalizations. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Young children, frail or elderly people  may experience severe or even fatal infections.
