A steady rain that lasted most of Monday caused problems throughout the Valley.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) more than one inch of rain was recorded at Naval Air Facility El Centro. Other parts of the Valley received similar amounts. A number of county roads were closed due to flooding and many city streets were subject to flooding as well. A number of accidents were also reported, keeping law enforcement officers busy, The Imperial irrigation District had to deal with scattered power outages. The storm moved on to the east as the evening wore on. NWS aid that another series of weather systems are expected to move into Southern California by Thursday.
