A vehicle ended up in a canal Tuesday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle was northbound on Austin Road near Aten Road, when it went out of control and ended up in a canal. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for observation. The vehicle was totally submerged in the canal and was expected to be retrieved  Wednesday morning.
