A car reported stolen on Friday night was recovered a short time later.

The 2023 BMW was reported stole from the parking lot of the Imperial Valley Mall shortly after 8:00 p.m. Friday. About 15 minutes later, the car's owner reported that the car was parked in a dirt lot just a short distance from where it was stolen. The car started to drive away but was stopped after moving only a few hundred yards. The driver of the stolen car, a 36-year-old man, was arrested and booked at Imperial County Jail on charges of Possession of Stolen Property.
