(The next El Centro City Council meeting will be December 7)....The meeting will start as a regular City Council meeting.

It will move into a reorganization meeting. During the regular meeting, the council will discuss the past accomplishment of Mayor Martha Cardenas-Singh. The Mayor will then call for the election of a new Mayor and a new Mayor Pro-tem. Expected to succeed Cardenas Singh as the new Mayor will be Sylvia Marroquin. It is expected Councilman Edgard Garcia will be named Mayor Pro-Tem. The formalities will be in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Once the votes are taken a reception will be held for the new Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem in the courtyard. There will be food and drinks available. The public meeting will begin at 6 pm. The public is invited to attend the reorganization and the reception.
