(Millions of dollars in narcotics seized)....More than $5 million in narcotics seized at the Cargo Facility at the Otay Mesa Port.

There were two seizures from two  tractor-trailer rigs earlier this month. In the first incident, a 25 year old Mexican Citizen was driving the rig. Customs and Border Protection officers located 22 five gallon buckets full of what tested positive for liquid methamphetamine. The buckets weighed a total of 663.15 pounds. The second seizure came after a 33 year old Mexican Citizen drove another rig into the inspection station. CBP officers discovered 146 packages of cocaine hidden in a load of cucumbers. The packages weighed over 400 pounds. The estimated street value of both seizures came in at over $5.3 million. Both drivers were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations. The CBP seized the rigs and the narcotics.
