(Board of Supervisors meet Tuesday).....The Board will discuss Ab 918.

The was authored by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia. It would create a single Healthcare District in Imperial County. It was recently approved by the State Legislature and has moved on to the Governors office for signature. County Board of Supervisors Chairman Ryan Kelley has said he understood the bill only allows for one board member on the new Healthcare District from the current Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District. He said if that was the case, he could not support the bill. Changes were made to the bill before it was approved by the legislature, but the changes were not detailed. Also at the meeting, the Supervisors will discuss emergency relief for Niland residents that were negatively impacted by the September 1st storm. Discussion and possible action is also scheduled for Phase 3 of the Imperial County Community Benefit Grant Program.
