(Child flown to a hospital)...It happened recently.

San Diego Sector Border Patrol was called by a group in the mountains. Agents arrived at the area near the border barrier near Jacumba. The group told the agents the six year old had been struck by a utility terrain vehicle during an off-road race in Mexico. They said the child suffered a head injury. The agents examined the child and determined he needed immediate medical attention. Because of the extremely remote location and the seriousness of the injury, it was decided to transport the child and his father to the Jacumba airport. At the airport, the child and his father were flown by helicopter to a San Diego area hospital. The child's condition is not known. The San Diego Sector says, so far this fiscal year, they have received over 4,700 calls for help/
