U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Tecate Port of Entry seized $4 million with of methamphetamine.

The seizure, shortly after 9:00 a.m. on July 6, at the Tecate cargo facility. According to CBP, a tractor-trailer rig was referred to secondary inspection for further examination. Officers using non-intrusive inspection technology, detected anomalies in the trailer. Further inspection led to the discovery of 138 packages concealed in the roof of the trailer. The packages contained over 1,800 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over $3.99 million. The driver, a 46-year-old man, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
