There has been a rash of vehicle burglaries in the parking lots of Bucklin Park in El Centro.

Two were reported on Saturday. The first was reported shortly after 9:00 a.m. when a woman told officers that while she was walking in the park someone broke into her SUV in the Northside parking lot and took her green leather purse that contained a wallet, credit cards and social security card. She estimated the loss of her purse, wallet and damage at $350.00.

Later Saturday there was another report of a vehicle burglary, this one in the South parking lot. A black purse containing a Driver's License, SENTRI card, $700.00 in cash, a cashiers check and other items was taken. In both cases a rear window of the vehicle was smashed. The two Saturday burglaries are in addition to several others reported over the past two weeks.
