An ATV rider who crashed in the Glamis area Thursday was rescued early Friday morning.

According to the Imperial County Sheriff's Office, at about 10:53 p.m. Thursday, they received a report of a missing person who had crashed their ATV in the Glamis Dunes. According to the family, the man contacted his brother at about 6:00 p.m. Thursday, telling him that he had crashed and was injured and did not know his location. Friends and family began a search that lasted several hours before they notified authorities. ICSO deputies responded to the area and were assisted by De Anza Search and Rescue and a REACH Air helicopter. The injured ATV rider was located after about an hour search. He was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
