(Border Patrol arrests one of their own)....It happened in the San Diego Border Patrol Sector.
55 year old Border Patrol Agent Hector Hernandez was arrested earlier this week. Thursday was his initial appearance in Federal Court on charges that he agreed to accept $25,000 in bribes to distribute methamphetamine and to open a restricted border gate to allow unauthorized migrants to illegally enter the United States.Hernandez had agreed to open the gate in exchange for $5,000 in cash. Hernandez was unaware he had made the agreement with an undercover federal agent. Tuesday the Chula Vista resident agreed to another cash payment to pick up an abandoned duffle bag loaded with methamohetamine while on duty. He followed instructions and took the duffle bag to his home. Wednesday morning Hernandez took the duffle bag to deliver it in exchange for $20,000. It turned out , he delivered the bag to the undercover agent. Hernandez was arrested after he made the delivery. His next court appearance will be May 16th. He faces a ten year to life sentence if he is found guilty of the charges.
