The 2023 California Mid-Winter Fair numbers have been released.

The annual event was blessed with what Fair officials called "decent weather" all 10 days. Paid admissions were up 12 per cent from the previous year. Food concessions were up 17 per cent with Spiral Fries and BBQ Village the top food venues. Carnival sales were up 11 per cent. While the animal exhibits and auction sales were up the average price per animal was down. The highest price for a steer was over $15,700 and a goat garnered $95.00 per pound. Auction total should be near $2 million. The inaugural Window Decorating Contest was won by Imperial Valley Volkswagen with Gordon's Carpet second and Discount Tire third.
