Caltrans has awarded nearly a quarter million dollars for a Brawley project.

The money is provided through the federal Highway Safety Improvement Program. The funds will be used to install traffic signal mast arms, LED safety lighting, curb bulb out, median curb nose, ADA curb ramps, high visibility crosswalks, and pavement markings at the intersection of Main Street and 8th Street in Brawley. The project is one of 9 in San Diego and Imperial County designed to reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries on city and county roads.
