(Collision on Interstate 8)....It was reported at just before 9:00 Tuesday night.

The California Highway Patrol says 36 year old Jordan Austin Bowen from San Ysidro was driving a Ford Freestar Eastbound on Interstate 8 east of Forrester Road. 51 year old female from El Centro was driving a 2021 Ford Box Truck, also eastbound on I-8 east of Forrester, ahead of the Bowen vehicle. The CHP says due to a previous collision in the area, traffic was moving very slowly. For reasons still under investigation, Bowen drove his vehicle directly into the rear of the Box Truck. As a result, Bowen suffered major injuries. He was taken to El Centro Regional Medical center for treatment. The collision remains under investigation.
