(Flowers are almost always give on Valentines Day).....Many will be purchasing their flowers in Mexicali.

Be aware of the extra inconvenience when you bring them back across the border. US Customs and Border Protection agriculture specialists will be kept very busy inspecting the flowers to ensure they are free from pests and diseases that could harm the agricultural and floral industry in the United States. They understand the temptation to purchase bouquets for loved ones, however protecting the integrity of the floral and agricultural industry in the United States is a top priority. Pests such as the Asian citrus psyllid and other diseases could be devastating to the local plants. Be aware the bouquets and single plants will be inspected and if pests or disease is found, portions of the bouquets or even the entire bouquets could be confiscated. Roses, carnations and many other flowers are allowed into the United States, but only after they are first inspected. All flowers and plants must be declared to CBP officers.
