(Chief Barra anounces his retirement)....Imperial Police Chief Leonard J. Barra is retiring after 23 year of service to the city of Imperial.

Barra has been with the Imperial Police Department since 2000. He was appointed Chief of the Department in 2017. The City Manager says Retired Brawley Police Chief Michael Crankshaw will be named interim Chief. The City has contracted with Bob Hall and Associates to begin the search for a permanent Police Chief for Imperial. Chief Barra will be honored at an official ceremony in the coming days.
