A man was arrested following a hit & run accident Monday night.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m., El Centro police were notified that a vehicle had hit a stop sign at Imperial and Pepper, knocking down the sign. The vehicle was then seen leaving the scene of the accident. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and contacted the driver who admitted to knocking down the sign. The driver, a 57-year-old man, was determined to have been drinking and he was cited and released for Driving Under the Influence.
