The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (this Report) is to comply with Subsection (c)(6) of § 73.2080 of the FCC’s Rules and Regulations (the EEO Rule).  KXO, Inc. (the Licensee) has prepared this Report for the Station Employment Unit that comprises Stations KXO(AM) and KXO-FM, El Centro, California.  The EEO Rule requires that the Licensee place this Report in those Stations’ On-Line Public Inspection Files, as well as on the Stations’ web site.

The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning July 16th, 2020 and ending July 15th, 2021 (the end of the Applicable Period).

This report may be filed shortly before the end of the Applicable Period.  Due to circumstances more fully described below, there will be no recruitment between the filing date and the end of the Applicable Period.

The FCC’s EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:

A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Stations comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period;

For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the Rules, which should be separately identified) identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number;

The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period;

Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and

A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Subsection (c)(2) of the EEO Rule.

Appendices 1, 2, and 3, which follow, have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the required information.  Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix 2 under the column entitled Full-time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized refer to the number of the full-time job positions listed on Appendix 1.

For the purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed filled not when the offer was extended, but when the hiree accepted the job offer.  A person was deemed interviewed whether he or she was interviewed in person and/or over the telephone.

Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken by KXO(AM) and KXO-FM

  Gene Brister, President of KXO, Inc., and General Manager of Stations KXO(AM) and KXO-FM, participated in a FCC webinar, Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021. The webinar was put on by Broadcast1Source, TLP Law, and the California Broadcasters Association.  It featured over one hour of FCC EEO training.  Each participant received a certificate of participation.

  Carroll Buckley, Vice President of KXO, Inc., attended a virtual Career Day at Booker T. Washington Elementary School in El Centro that ran from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., on April 21st, 2021.  According to the school, the Zoom event was attended by almost all the students.  Mr. Buckley was able to describe what we do in radio broadcasting and to answer a number of questions from the students.

During the pandemic that began in late 2019 / early 2020, Imperial County, where we are located, was considered one of the “hottest” places in the Nation for the Covid-19 Virus.  We were locked down for almost a year.  Our economy was devastated.  No one wanted to put on a Career Day or to participate in one.
