Radio Stations KXO(AM) and KXO-FM EEO Public File Report for 2024-2025
Pursuant to § 73.2080(c)(6) of the Rules and Regulations of the Federal Communications Commission (the FCC), KXO, Inc. the Licensee of Radio Stations KXO(AM) and KXO-FM (the Stations), has prepared, and is making public, this EEO Public File Report (this Report).
This Report covers the Station Employment Unit that comprises the two Stations.
The Licensee is making this Report available:
• by placing it in the Stations’ On-Line Public Inspection Files; and
• by posting it on the Stations’ website, kxoradio.com .
This Report covers the time period that began on July 16, 2024, and that ended on July 15, 2025 (the Applicable Period).
Section 73.2080 requires that an EEO Public File Report contain:
• A list of all full-time vacancies that the Station Employment Unit filled during the Applicable Period;
• For each such vacancy, the Recruitment Source(s) used to fill the vacancy, including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to § 73.2080(c)(1)(ii), which should be separately identified. The Report should identify Recruitment Sources by name, address, contact person, and telephone number;
• The Recruitment Source that referred the person hired for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period;
• Data reflecting the number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period, and the number of interviewees referred by each Recruitment Source; and
• A list and brief description of initiatives undertaken pursuant to § 73.2080(c)(2).
Appendices 1, 2, and 3, which follow, provide the required information.
In Appendix 2, any number in the column labelled Full-Time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized refers to the classification number of the position listed in Appendix 1. We have deemed any vacancy filled when the person hired accepted the job offer. We have deemed someone interviewed if interviewed either in person, or via electronic means, or both. Appendix 3
Supplemental Recruitment Activities Undertaken by the Stations. (Non-Vacancy Specific)
1. Carroll Buckley, the Vice-President of the Licensee, met with Imperial County’s Veterans’ Service Officer to explore how the Stations can assist Veterans who seek employment. They discussed auch topics as the dissemination of information about possible future job openings at the Stations, as well as employment prospects in the Broadcasting Industry generally.
2. Gene Brister, the President of the Licensee, and Jared Anchondo, a Sales Executive for the Stations, participated in Imperial Valley College’s 2025 Career Fair and University Day. The event took place on Thursday, March 27, 2025. More than 1,500 people attended, including Middle-School, High-School, College, and Adult-Education students. We had no open positions, but we welcomed applications and resumés. The Stations promoted the event with on-air announcements valued at more then $4,000.
3. On March 21, 2025, Tracy Lyon Ramirez, the Office Manager and an On-Air Personality at the Stations, attended the Central Union High School’s Career Day, from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. She interacted with many students who were curious about career opportunities in Broadcasting.
4. Carroll Buckley worked with Spartan Sound Productions, a student-run group that provides podcasts about, and interviews with, student athletes who attend Central Union High School. The Stations aired the interviews and the podcasts. The Stations’ Youtube channel also carried them. Mr. Buckly provided the students with information about careers in Music and in Broadcasting. The program runs throughout the school year. Approximately 40 students participated.
