|Maximum Enforcement Weekend|
|Saturday, 28 May 2011 07:16|
If you're on a California highway this Memorial Day Weekend you're in good company.
The California Highway Patrol says that this holiday weekend is a Maximum Enforcement Period ( MEP ) throughout the holiday. To keep things safe on the roadways , CHP Area offices will deploy every available officer. The CHP says that if you are headed out on a roadtrip to buckle up , don't drink and drive , keep your vehicle at a safe and legal speed and eliminate distractions. The MEP effort coincides with the 2011 " Click It Or Ticket " seat belt campaign. CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow said, " It's the goal of law enforcement to get motorists to buckle up everyday , not just over the holiday weekend."
