A car stolen from an El Centro dealership was recovered with in minutes. El Centro Police responded to El Centro Motors after receiving a report of a car just stolen from the dealers lot. The car, a bright red 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse edition was taken by a Hispanic male adult wearing a black shirt and white shoes. The sports car is equipped with a tracking device and officers were quickly able to locate it in the 500 block of Belford Road in Imperial. A man was detained and then positively identified in a field line up. The suspect was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail. The car was returned to El Centro Motors. 

A tall truck had problems with a low bridge. Wednesday afternoon at about 4:50 p.m. a truck and trailer on the eastbound Interstate 8 connector at southbound State Route 111 lost the top part of the trailer when it was too tall to pass under the bridge. Traffic was tied up for a brief time as the roadway was cleared of debris and the big rig could be safely moved. A second oversized load that was following the first truck was able to stop and avoid the same fate. There were no injuries.

Several local agencies worked to locate a couple reported missing Monday.
