(Exessive Heat Watch in effect)...It is dangerous and uncomfortable for humans.

But it is worse for pets. Officials say when the air is hot, the ground is hotter. They say if the surface is too hot for you, it is way too hot for your pets.. When extreme temperatures are forecast, walk your pets in the early morning hours or after the sun goes down. When your pets are outdoors, make sure they have fresh water at all times, and plenty of shade to lay-down in. If you can keep them inside, do that as much as possible. Keep in mind, when the air temperature is at 102, it is 167 degrees on the blacktop, 143 degrees on concrete, 120 on brown grass and 106 on green grass.
