(El Centro man stabbed)….The suspect was caught about an hour later.
El Centro Police Commander Jeff Mason says the call came in at around 9:00 Tuesday night. Officers arrived at the scene in the 400 block of East Orange to find the 50-year-old male victim had been stabbed several times. Witnesses told officers there had been an argument and 30-year-old Anthony Madueno of El Centro had stabbed the victim and then fled the scene. The victim, also an El Centro resident, was taken to a San Diego area hospital for treatment. Mason says at just before 10:00 pm a patrol officer spotted the suspect in the 300 block of Smoketree Drive. He was placed under arrest. Madueno was questioned by detectives, and then booked into County Jail. He was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $500,000.
