(Updates to IID Energy Rewards Program)…They were approved by the Imperial Irrigation District Board Tuesday.
A number of rebate increase incentives were approved. Also approved were the additions of two new qualifying energy efficiency measures and a modification to the attic insulation rebate requirement. The changes were made to make energy saving investments more accessible for IID customers. Incentive amounts were increased for qualifying refrigerators to $125 per unit, room air conditioners to $100 per unit, attic fans from $100 to $150 per unit and air conditioners from $250 up to a maximum of $500 per ton. They also increased rebates for attic insulation and evaporative coolers. The incentives offered through the IID’s Energy Rewards Program are funded by the public benefits charge, which is collected on energy bills. The District’s 2013 budget for the Program total $1.6 million. The IID website has all the information on the Energy Rebate Program.
