(Supervisors support Calexico Enterprise Zone)…The Board Tuesday adopted the resolution.
It was on the Board’s Consent agenda. While the State is closing down all Enterprise Zones in January, communities will be allowed to retain a designation of Target Employment Area, and therefore retaining some of the benefits that are currently offered Enterprise Zone. To retain a TEA designation, information must be current. The resolution adopted by the Board calls for updating the TEA information, using information from the California Housing and Community Development. The last update was in 2006, and information was used from the 2000 census. That information is not available in the 2010 census.
