Help for soon to be displaced workers

(National Beef aftermath)….The Kansa City based beef processor announced the closure of their Brawley plant.

They said the plant would close April 4th, despite local efforts to make it more economically attractive to keep the plant open. The aftermath will mean the loss of more than 1,300 jobs. The County says following the final decision, their work is just beginning. Various County agencies, including One Stop and Social Services, will be staging all day informational sessions for the displaced workers. They will start March 10th. The purpose is to assist in supporting the Brawley Beef workers with information in receiving benefits as they wait for new job opportunities.
