(Holtville Wastewater projects to begin latter this year)…. The projects are being paid for through a grant.
The grant was approved by the North American Development Bank, or NAD Bank, through its Board of Environmental Infrastructure Fund, which is funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency. The grant is to finance a portion of the costs for the Wastewater Gravity Main Replacement Project and the Residential Wastewater Collection System Expansion Project certified by the Border Environmental Cooperation Commission. The first project includes the construction of wastewater main by installing 18,100 lineal feet of 18 inch PVC wastewater pipeline. The second project will expand the wastewater collection system to connect 23 homes within two neighborhood blocks. The proposed projects have an estimated cost of $5.7 million. The City says they will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
