(Two more women caught smuggling narcotics into prison)…Both incidents occurred at the Calipatria State Prison.
Officials say 22-year-old Donneshia Johnson of Los Angeles had gone to visit her husband at the facility. The woman appeared nervous, and when staff asked her if she had any contraband, she admitted she did. During a consented search officials discovered 35.2 grams of heroin, with an estimated value of $24,375. The woman’s husband, Ronneold Johnson, was connected to the crime and was placed in the prison’s administrative segregation unit. The woman was taken to County Jail. The second incident involved 39-year-old Stephany Casey of Apple Valley. The woman was seen going to the restroom. Went she came out, prison staff went in and found three bindles of marijuana. Casey was uncooperative. She was placed under arrest. During a clothed pat down, staff found a bindle of methamphetamine and 76.6 grams of marijuana in a pants pockets. No inmates were connected to the crime. Casey was booked into county jail.
