(Border Air Pollution)….Air Quality is once again Unhealthy.
The first Air Alert was issued by the Air Pollution Control District at 10:00 pm Wednesday. The APCD recorded high levels of PM 2.5 at the Ethel Street Monitoring Station in Calexico. Levels of the finite Particulate Matter remained high into Thursday morning. PM 2.5 is mostly the result of vehicle emissions. People most affected by this type air pollution are people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and small children. It is recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency that the affected groups greatly reduce physical activity, and remain indoors until the Particulate levels are reduced.
