(Local Sierra Club facing suspension)…The San Diego Chapter covers both San Diego and Imperial Counties.
On February 10th the National Board will meet to discuss suspending the Chapter for 4 years. National Sierra Club Officials say there has been too much in fighting and lack of leadership in the chapter. They also say they have received several complaints from volunteer members. A suspension would take away the Chapter’s authority to independently hire and manage staff, but they say it should not hinder rank and file outings, fundraising projects or any other regular activities. Members can send comments to the National Board up until the February meeting.
