(County approves a Veteran’s Identification Card)….The card will serve two purposes.

It will allow Veteran’s residing in Imperial County to identify themselves as Veterans. It will also assist the Veterans Service Office to meet Cal Vets allocation of one-time additional subvention funding award for the purpose of developing and implementing outreach activities intended to identify all local veterans eligible for benefits and services. The first card will be issued free of charge to each veteran residing in the county. To qualify for a card, the veteran must provide a certified copy of their discharge papers, along with a valid current picture identification. They must also provide proof of residency. The card will not be a legal form of identification. The purpose is solely to identify the bearer as a military veteran of the United States.
