(CHP releases Holiday Stats)…The statistics cover the just ended four-day weekend.
The California Highway Patrol went into their Holiday Maximum Enforcement at 6:00 pm Wednesday and it continued until 11:59 pm Sunday night. According to their report, all numbers were down from last year’s report, except for fatal injury traffic incidents. The Highway Patrol says there were 2 fatal injuries this year. There were none last year. DUI arrests were down, with 6 this year as compared to 8 last year. There were 8 property damage collisions this year as compared to 9 last year. There was one minor injury collision, down from the 5 reported last Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend. There were no major injury collisions, the same as last year.
