(Former County Supervisor hired as County employee)….Gary Wyatt had decided not to seek re-election during the last election.
Wyatt had served 12 years as County Supervisor District 4. This week the County announced the hiring of Wyatt as the new Intergovernmental Relations Director. He will work out of the County Executive Officers Department. Wyatt fills the vacancy left by Bob Ham, who retired recently. As County Supervisor, Wyatt served as the Counties representative to multiple state and federal organizations. He was extensively involved in the legislative and governmental affairs of Imperial County and concurrently has created countless valuable relationships and connections, according to the announcement of Wyatt’s appointment. Wyatt says he is very excited to serve the Imperial County as the new Intergovernmental Relations Director. He said it would be a challenge following in the shoes of his predecessor, but it was a challenge he was ready to embrace.
