CIF Playoff Game of the Week

The Central Spartans will meet the Steele Canyon Cougars in a second round C.I.F. San Diego Section Football game Friday at Cal Jones Field in El Centro. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00PM. Pre-sale tickets for the game will be available Friday from Noon till 4:00PM at the main office on the campus of Central Union High School.

(The election results may be in by tomorrow)...County Clerk/Registrar of Voters Dolores Provencio said the counting of the approximately 5100 absentee and provisional ballots had been processed faster than expected and the actual counting was to begin at 9:00 this morning.

Supervisors Want an Explanation of IID's Equitable Distribution Plan

(The County Board of Supervisors would like an explanation on the IID's equitable distribution plan)... The Board agreed to send a letter to the Imperial Irrigation District asking for some type of meeting, either a joint board meeting, a committee meeting, or a presentation from IID staff, on the District's "straight-line" plan for the equitable distribution of water during shortage periods.

( The County Board of Supervisors move forward on a "nuisance abatement" Ordinance)... It was agreed Tuesday by unanimous vote. The County will move forward with the Ordinance allowing for the procedures, policies and enforcement of a Nuisance Abatement Plan.

(The County develops a nuisance abatement ordinance)…A lot of people complain about the junk and trash around the county, not only in the country but at homes, as well. It appears, however, not everybody is willing to enforce a law to clean it up.
