NAU Yuma - Names Associate Vice President & Campus Executive Officer

Northern Arizona University President John Haeger has named Krista Rodin as Associate Vice President and Campus Executive Officer at NAU-Yuma. Rodin, who serves as vice provost for University Outreach at the University of Connecticut, assumes her new position the first of January.

(THE D.A.’S OFFICE IS LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD MEN OR WOMEN, WHO HAVE PASSED THE BAR)….THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE IS CRITICALLY SHORT OF ATTORNEYS. NORMALLY THE D.A. WOULD HAVE 20 PROSECUTING ATTORNEYS IN HIS OFFICE. CURRENTLY 8 HAVE LEFT FOR OTHER POSITIONS, AND ONE OTHER HAS INTERVIEWED AND IS EXPECTED TO BE GONE BY NOVEMBER.

El Centro - Apartment Fire Claims Life

A small apartment fire turned deadly Wednesday afternoon when the resident of that apartment was unable to escape the flames and died. El Centro Fire Department responded to the Cottage Apartments in the 400 block of State Street at about 3:00PM.

The Southwest Eagles travel to downtown San Diego Friday night to meet the San Diego Cavers of the Western League. The Cavers of Coach Glenn Goings are 2 and 5 so far this year which is one more win then they had all last season.

THE STATE OFFICE OF EDUCATION HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE HIGH SCHOOLS IN CALEXICO, BRAWLEY AND EL CENTRO WILL RECEIVE PART OF THE $5.2 MILLION IN AWARDS STATEWIDE FROM THE NATIONAL BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL TEACHING INCENTIVES.
