Former President Gerald Ford Dies at 93

The 38th and only non-elected President of the United States of America Gerald Ford passed away according to his wife. Ford became the nation's oldest living former president after the death of Ronald Reagan in 2004.  Ford and his wife, Betty, lived in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Kym Cano Scheduled for Court January 7th

(Cano goes back to court in early January)...Imperial County District Attorney Gilbert Otero says the preliminary hearing for Kym Cano has been scheduled for January 7th, 2007. Cano is facing Murder charges in the death of her husband. Francisco Cano died from a gunshot wound to the head.

CHP - Brawley Man Injured Seriously in Roll-Over

(A Brawley man was seriously injured this morning after the vehicle he was in over-turned on Highway 111).....The California Highway Patrol says the incident occurred at around 5:30 this morning. The CHP says the vehicle was being driven by 21 year old Eduardo Estrada from Brawley.

Koala Joey Comes Out of the Pouch in Time for the Holidays

A baby koala (called a joey) born earlier this year on May 17, is starting to explore his world outside the pouch at the San Diego Zoo. Baby koalas spend six to seven months in the pouch after their birth, before starting to spend more time outside the pouch, clinging to mom.

ICOE - $867,357 CaMSP Grant for Mathematics

SACRAMENTO — State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell today announced a total of 30 grantees will receive $23.2 million in California Mathematics and Science Partnership (CaMSP) grants. The Imperial County Office of Education received $ 867,357.00 for mathematics.
