(Mexicali has a new Mayor)….Five of the major cities in Baja California swore in new Mayors over the weekend.
Mexicali is the Capital City of the state. Tijuana, Ensenada, Tecate and Rosarito Beach also administered the oath over the weekend. Taking the oath as the new Mexicali Mayor was 57-year-old Jaime Rafael Diaz Ochoa. He is only one of two new Mayors from the PAN, or National Action Party. The other 3 are members of the ruling PRI party. Several Imperial County officials attended the event Saturday, including County District one Supervisor John Renison. Diaz Ochoa has a degree in Business Administration, and served as Mayor of Mexicali once before, from 2001-2004. He also served as a state senator from 2006-2012.
