(Brawley Police say they will increase patrols)....The Department has issued a statement.

It says additional officers will be on patrol on Sunday. The Patrols will increase from 7 am Sunday to 2 am Monday. Sunday is St. Patrick's Day, traditionally a day for alcohol consumption. The Department says they will be on the look out for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. They are asking the community to celebrate responsibly by designating a sober driver to ensure the safety of everyone on the road. Chief Duran is also warning that alcohol is not the only substance that can cause impairment. He says marijuana, prescription medications, and over the counter drugs can also impair an individual and affect their driving ability.
