The 44th Annual Farmworkers Appreciation Breakfast is set for Friday.

The early morning event is Imperial Countys way of saying Thank You to the many hard-working farmworkers who fuel the local agricultural economy. The event is organized by the Employment Development Department in Imperial County and the breakfast is sponsored by the Center for Employment Training, the City of Calexico, the Mexican Consulate in Calexico, the Farm Worker Services Coalition of Imperial County as well as Imperial Valley farmers, contractors and local organizations. 

A breakfast of tamales, beans, salsa, sweet bread and coffee is served at the America's Job Center, 301 Heber Avenue in Calexico from 1am - 5am Friday. More than 2,500 farm workers are expected to be served.
