(Woman caught smuggling Fentanyl)...It happened recently at the Border Patrol Checkpoint.

The woman was a passenger in a vehicle that drove up to the checkpoint. A K-9 unit alerted to the vehicle and the male driver was directed to go to the secondary inspection area. The driver told Border Patrol agents he was a rideshare driver and was providing a transportation service for the 18-year-old female passenger. As the driver and passenger exited the vehicle, a K-9 again alerted to the trunk of the vehicle. Agents searched the trunk and found 11 clear plastic bags containing blue pills. The Fentanyl weighed just over 14 pounds, with an estimated value of almost $165,000. The pills tested positive for Fentanyl. The passenger, a US Citizen, and the Fentanyl were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
