(Heat Related illness update for Imperial County)....It is posted on the County Public Health Department website.

As of this week there have been 51 heat related illnesses in the County. That includes 7 heat related deaths. 22 have suffered Heat Exhaustion, there have been 21 reports of heat fatigue, dehydration and other illnesses. There has been 1 report of Heat Stroke. The Health Department says those suffering heat related illness range in age from 3 to 88, with the median age of 47.. 84 percent of those suffering heat related illness have been males. 16% have been females. 21% have been homeless. Excessive heat will continue through at least Saturday, with a possible break in the high temperatures. Temperatures will still remain over 100 degrees. Mexicali officials said this week there have been 16 official heat related deaths in their city.
