A new " Welcome to California/Imperial County" monument greets travelers at the U.S. - Mexico border.

The monument is at the Calexico East Port of Entry. The monument is near the port of entry and northbound State Route 7. It will welcome border crossers to Imperial County and the State of California. Funding was provided by the Clean California Initiative, a multi-year effort to create thousands of jobs, remove litter, and engage communities in beautification efforts. The gateway monument includes sustainable landscaping.
