(COVID 19 cases down)...Updated numbers on COVID 19 were released Tuesday.

  Information on COVID 19 is provided by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, active cases are down significantly. Active cases are now at 398, down from 521 reported before Christmas. The COVID 19 Tier Metrics for Imperial County indicate new cases per day per 100,000 population at 31.20, with a positivity rate of 21.4%. Deaths attributed to the virus remain at 960. Health officials say they anticipate another surge in COVID cases after the New Year's Holiday. They highly recommend residents get the COVID Booster, if they have not already done so. They say the triple threat of COVID, Influenza and RSV are still very much a concern. Residents who have not received a flu shot should also get one as soon as possible.
